Gonçalo Rodrigues (F8) and Ricardo Gomes (F8) are competing in the finals of the National Championships
Ricardo Gomes is competing in the next Equestrian National Championship in Lisbon. The date of the event is from 27th to 30th of June 2013. He is one of the candidates to win the National Championship. He's going to try to convince the national team coach (Miguel Viana), to go and represent Portugal in the next European Championship, which is going to be held next August in Madrid. Ricardo is going to participate in the Under-15 Championship. On the 27th there are going to be more or less 40 people competing over only one course. On the second day of the event there will be one course which people do twice. At the end of this day, the jury combines the two first days and only the best 15 pass. The third day, the last day will be the final where the riders do two different courses, and the best result is the winner.
Ricardo rarely trains, but as he has a good coach, who treats his horse very well, his success comes from there.
On the other hand, Gonçalo Rodrigues is competing in Loures, Lisbon, also the "Final 4" of the National Championship of roller hockey. The event is going to be held from 29th to 30th of June 2013 in the Pavilion "Paz e Amizade" . Gonçalo is going to represent the Under-15 team of HC Braga. The other teams involved are Sporting CP, the local team which is going to dispute the passage to the final against Braga. In the other semi-final, also the south team Paço d' Arcos is going to dispute the passage to the final against ADB Campo. The semi-finals are going to be held on the next 29th of June, and the Final and 3rd and 4th place on the 30th June.
HC Braga has reached a very high level in the few last years in terms of youth teams. HC Braga is now at the level of the best in Portugal. That is due to the intense training carried out at the younger stage. The proof of that is the Under-15s and the Under-20s are competing in the "Final 4". All the younger stages of the club, going from Under-10 to Under-19, train between 3-4 days per week plus playing a game at the weekend.
These fantastic achievements take a lot of hard work!
